Set in the middle of an area unique for it's natural diversity, the province of Tarragona is surrounded by sea and mountains.

Various pre-litoral mountain ranges divide the land, hiding natural treasures and flora and fauna native to the Mediterranean. An area famous for the Costa Daurada and its beaches, but little known for this beautiful interior.

To our North we will find the Prades mountains with their pine, chestnut, oak and holm oak forests. There we can find magical places such as Prades and Poblet.

Montsant's Natural Park was a protected territory for centuries, a spiritual place whose only inhabitants were hermits and monks who formed part of the first Iberical Penisula Chartusian monastery.

Hidden in this precipitous landscape, we can find the Priorat, a tapestry of vineyards, different varieties of grape planted on steep slopes and the zig-zaging roads that make the Priorat a truely picturesque area.

Tivissa and Vandellos kiss the sea, and form a natural border between the “Camp de Tarragona” and the “Terres de l’Ebre”.

Up in these mountains, we will discover forests and routes with hidden Iberian villages, cave paintings and impressive panoramic views of the coast.

The Cardo mountain range, just at the edge of Priorat as we reach the sea, embraces the old Cardo Spa. The Pandols range, the area where the Battle of Ebro took place during the Spanish Civil War. Here we can enjoy the last kilometers of the Ebro river before it flows definitively into the sea.

The “Ports de Tortosa i Beseit” are some of the jewels of “les Terres de l’Ebre” with mountains that reach up to 1442m and historical sites such as Tortosa or Horta de Sant Joan.

The Ebro river flows into the Mediterranean, on the southern edge of Catalunya, creating an alluvial plane of 320Km2 in an arrow formation that stretches 25 km out to sea.

This 8500 hectare area has been overtaken by natural environments such as alluvial islands, lagoons and rice fields.

The “Delta de l’Ebre” is the largest wetland in Catalunya, and one of the most important in Occidental Europe, and is of similar import to la Camarga in France or Doñana in Spain. Rich with natural wealth, it is visited by thousands of migrating birds every year as they make their journey across the world.
