Alt Camp comprises of two big mountain ranges, a flatland and a group of ranges that are a part of the Serralada Prelitoral.
This group forms a natural amphitheatre that opens out to the sea, and is surrounded by the mountains of la Mussara and Prades.
In these windswept lands, the waters of the Gaia and Francoli rivers open into valleys where small, picturesque settlements remain.
This area is famous for its product, principally its wine and oil. Its inhabitants are proud of their traditions; the “calçotades”, a gastronomical tradition unique to Catalonia, and “els castells” (human towers) which originate in its capital city, Valls.
On this route, INDRETS will show you the humanity of the region, the dreams of local people who are committed to creating microprojects connected to their land.

What will we do?

We will begin our experience in Santes Creus, with a visit to its monastery (C.XII). It will open its doors and let us contemplate its architectural beauty, its columns with their impressive motifs and its serenity. It is sure to leave a lasting impression.
In the small but lively village of Bràfim, we will have time to enjoy wine tasting at Cal Garriga, a little agricultural shop nestled in an old dovecote.
Once we’ve tasted the best wines and beers in the area, we will eat lovingly homemade, slow-cooked food in a local restaurant.
Next, we will drive to Nulles to visit its Modernist cooperative, which opened in 1919. The so-called Catedral del Vi (Cathedral of Wine), is a remarkable building especially designed to regulate the light and temperature that enters through its large windows, ensuring perfect conditions for wine production.
From there we will move on to the picturesque village of Montferri, where we will see the magnificent facade of the church, built by inhabitants of the village who followed an old design by one of Gaudi’s disciples.
To finish our route we will visit an artisanal brewery, the dream of local entrepreneurs who have researched ancient beer making practices, and given a Mediterranean twist to their elaborate recipes, which are brewed in a small space with few resources.
